For the benefit of 944Hybrids users there are two search functions available for you to use.
The purpose of this sticky is to explain the "Advanced Search" function because it is much more powerful and is the best choice when researching information.
When you log on to the site a list of options is shown in a line at the top of the page. One option is labelled "Search", use this option (NOT the search box lower down on the right).
After you click on the upper search option, a drop down box appears. At the bottom of this box is a radio button marked "Advanced …

Late turbo front on early n/a?
Anyone on here ever put a late model turbo front bumper on a early N/A car. I want to have that clean looking front to include the slit to help the LS1 breath once she's in.
What all is entailed with the swap. Complete fender and bumper swaps or just the bumper?
Thanks

Re: Late turbo front on early n/a?
Ive done it but with the Kokeln GTR bumper and on an 87. I had to change to turbo front fenders and buy a turbo bumper support. I think thats about it besides maybe the headlight sail panels but Ive never confirmed that; I have TPC fixed headlights.
This may not help much but....it can and has been done!

Headlights shouldnt be an issue because I too will be doing the fixed headlight conversion.
Thanks for the info.

i have done many . you need the fenders and the bumper along with the hardwere for said parts . other than that it's just a matter of removing the old and bolting on the later parts . about a 6 to 8 hour job . to a newbee add 3 or 4 more hours .

If you are mechanically inclined you can convert your N/A fenders, you can trim N/A fenders to match a turbo bumper cover. I've done this conversion by making a card board template then trimming the fenders with a cut off wheel. If you cut carefully you will only have to dress the cut ends, you could also roll the ends but this will cause the paint to crack.
To support the turbo front end, you will need the following parts;
-Turbo Bumper Shocks
-Turbo Bumper Cover support (aluminum bar that mounts on bumper shocks)
-Turbo Head Light Covers
-Turbo Nose Panel
-Some rewiring to support turbo fog and driving lights
There are pictures gallery of the conversion in my gallery (pormgb), the right side still needs some work because the fender was damaged and repaired.

Re: Late turbo front on early n/a?
sweet.. I'll check it out.
I want to swap it over so it gives it a cleaner look as well as when I put in this LS1, I can have the filter go straight and that way I can have hair flow straight through the bumper to the filter!
