The purpose of this sticky is to explain the "Advanced Search" function because it is much more powerful and is the best choice when researching information.
When you log on to the site a list of options is shown in a line at the top of the page. One option is labelled "Search", use this option (NOT the search box lower down on the right).
After you click on the upper search option, a drop down box appears. At the bottom of this box is a radio button marked "Advanced …

87-944S First Drive!
Here it is coming out of the garage and first drive down the street! This vehicle has been up on jacks for the past 9 years or so. Needs paint and interior work, but felt solid, all this work is paying off finally.

Thanks, it is, just kicking myself for taking so long! But in my defense, I replaced everything that I could in the suspension, I feel like I am starting out with a new car. Now I need to step it up and get it street legal, and give Skywalker some competition in the local autocrosses.

Congrats. Did you wind up keeping the hydroboost? I like the see-thru hood too. I wonder how much it weighs?

No Hydroboost, the dual M/C setup with Wilwood M/Cs and balance bar setup. Not sure what the noise is, I do have P/S fluid, I will have to investigate, hopefully nothing serious! I'm fairly certain I may have an exhuast leak at one of the collectors, the bolts were a pain to install. Just glad it didn't go up in smoke and I was finally able to run it long enough for the engine to cycle the fans and keep an eye on operating temps and pressures.

As for the hood, I don't need no stinking hood! It made for a ot of stares when I drove around, as well as the exhuast note!

I don't know about the noise - I have noticed that hand-held cameras tend to amplify higher frequency sounds. You may be chasing a ghost. Looking forward to seeing you out at the course at the end of October!

Without a hood means no need for the windshield washer tank!
Did not know about cameras exaggerating high freq. noises. Might be nothing then.

I know it was just a short trip, but, how was the braking feel? Exhaust loudness and how do you have your exhaust set up?

Re: 87-944S First Drive!
Brakes are not complete, the rear hydraulics are not hooked up, so I had very minimal brakes. I won't be able to get a good feel until I finish them up and adjust bias. Exhaust has a very nce tone, but bit too loud for me, so I have a Flowmaster resonator that will go in. Exhaust is 3 inch from the collectors to a Y pipe, high flow cat, and a Flowmaster 50 series SS muffler, with Magnaflow 5 inch baffled oval tip, all pipes are 3 inch.
