HOW TO DO AN ADVANCED SEARCH.

Mon Jul 08, 2013 3:56 pm by Admin

For the benefit of 944Hybrids users there are two search functions available for you to use.
The purpose of this sticky is to explain the "Advanced Search" function because it is much more powerful and is the best choice when researching information.

When you log on to the site a list of options is shown in a line at the top of the page. One option is labelled "Search", use this option (NOT the search box lower down on the right).

After you click on the upper search option, a drop down box appears. At the bottom of this box is a radio button marked "Advanced …

Full Vehicle Wrapping

Post  Bluemach1 on Sat Sep 03, 2011 4:15 pm

Has anyone looked into doing a full vinyl wrap on thier 944? I would like to know what pricing is like. I was thinking that this might be a good short term plan until I can afford a nice paint job.

Around here for a graphic design type wrap , it cost about $15 per square foot. Also from what I have been told it pretty much ruin's the paint under the wrap. Mainly from the scratches and cuts made to the wrap as it's installed.

I have to try figure out how many sq ft a 944 is. I am not too worried about the paint on there now as it is pretty much shot. Just thinking of it as a cheap alternative to a half ass paint job that I would get for under a couple grand.

that is untrue.

One of our customers is the biggest company doing full car wraps here, a lot of their cars is high end stuff, like brand new ferrais, porsche and bmws.

The paint is never damaged on removal, unless its faulty. I had it happend when car was repainted, it was examined and it turned out you could pull it off with regular tape as well..

here it costs 2-3k USD for a full car, but our price levels is quite silly.

For a proper full car you need to remove the bumpers, open hood, open mirrors etc to make it impossible to see that its coverd.

WOW!

Got a quote over the phone today for my 951 and.......$2,800-$2,000.00....
They stated that if it is taken care of, it can last 5 years. They warranty it for 3 years. That's a little ridiculous considering that you could have a nice paint job for $2k and if taken care of, can last 10+ years.

It's expensive if you just want one color but if you are doing graphics a paint job will get out of hand fast. The body wraps are a good deal in this case.

A good, factory quality paint job is easily $4500+ dollars.

My vinyl gal said to wrap my 948 would be around $2500+. So while it's still expensive, it's nowhere near the cost of a complete, factory quality paint job.
