HOW TO DO AN ADVANCED SEARCH.

Mon Jul 08, 2013 3:56 pm by Admin

For the benefit of 944Hybrids users there are two search functions available for you to use.
The purpose of this sticky is to explain the "Advanced Search" function because it is much more powerful and is the best choice when researching information.

When you log on to the site a list of options is shown in a line at the top of the page. One option is labelled "Search", use this option (NOT the search box lower down on the right).

After you click on the upper search option, a drop down box appears. At the bottom of this box is a radio button marked "Advanced …

Summer Yellow LS1 goes to the dyno - 357.2 rwhp @ 5450 rpm

Post  rdanford on Thu Aug 18, 2011 5:45 pm

Taking my 1987 Porsche LS1 swap to the dyno tomorrow morning. Eric built my car earlier this year and since then I've put 4,500 miles on it. It is a all stock with full smog/cat 2001 LS1 with TPC's long-tube headers installed, all else is stock.

I'll be interested to see the numbers since I'll be running mostly stock as well, minus smog and restrictive exhaust.

Good luck tomorrow. I have a feeling that Eric's headers will be a winner power wise. I actually made a bet against a friend that I would make either the same or slightly more power than his swap (1995 Volvo 960 /w LM4 and LS6 cam making 300rwhp and 310rwtq). My LM4 is stock outside of the intake and exhaust.

How quiet is your exhaust and what did you end up running muffler wise? Any drone?

Exhaust is dual all the way...Magnaflow spun cats and 2-in 2-out Magnaflow muffler. No drone when cruising and sounds great on throttle!

Well...Dyno results exceeded my expectations for sure. 357.2 corrected hp at 5450 RPM with a peak torque of 446 with AFR at 12.5 or better. cheers

Wow stock LS1 with 357 at the rear wheels, very impressive! That torque number is killer too!

that is a great run. However the torque curve looks wrong. I don't think you will get 440+ ftlbs at 1700 rpms unless you are running a 7.3l Powerstroke!

Agreed. Maybe the dyno had a goofy pickup/noise that low in the RPMs. I would go from 3000RPM and up.

Never heard of that brand? Any ideal of how those numbers equate to a dynojet or mustang dyno?

Your setup wouldn't break 300whp on a Mustang. There are serious issues with your numbers and that graph. Hopefully this shop's wideband was more accurate.

Torque curve is very funny looking. Agreed that the peak torque shouldn't be that much and that early.

HP sounds about right, I did 373rwhp without cats and basically the same setup as you. I gained +12rwhp by taking the cats out and putting in test pipes.

im installing a l33 with ls2 cam, ls6 243 heads with the better valves and springs, ls1 intake, 78mm tb, ss headers, cai, and hoping to get 350-375 rwhp.

I heard that you're up in Greeley. I live just down the road in Frederick. I'd love to see that thing! In the information gathering stage of my LS1 swap.

Beautiful car Dan. How does it do on cooling temps? I've always thought the Turbo front bumper was air restrictive.
