HOW TO DO AN ADVANCED SEARCH.

Mon Jul 08, 2013 3:56 pm by Admin

For the benefit of 944Hybrids users there are two search functions available for you to use.
The purpose of this sticky is to explain the "Advanced Search" function because it is much more powerful and is the best choice when researching information.

When you log on to the site a list of options is shown in a line at the top of the page. One option is labelled "Search", use this option (NOT the search box lower down on the right).

After you click on the upper search option, a drop down box appears. At the bottom of this box is a radio button marked "Advanced …

Early to Late offset Steering Rack Mod? Empty Early to Late offset Steering Rack Mod?

Post  Dawgz83948 Mon Nov 01, 2010 5:55 pm

I think XChop did this but what do I need to make the early rack connect to late offset wheels? I know the inner tierod on the early rack is (female) 14mm x 1.5 and the late power steering outer tie rods are (female) 14mm x 1.5. Do I need to get a left and right all thread to connect the two, if so how long?

That is what I did. IIRC it wasn't more that 3in a side. Xschop posted a different inner tie rod that would work too. https://944hybrids.forumotion.com/944hybrids-member-conversions-f22/nailed-it-t55-60.htm?highlight=nailed+it

Hey X, that inner tie rod it still requires that we machine an adapter, or will it bolt directly into late power steering outters?

DIRECT BOLT-ON, just reuse the female POWER outer tie rods..... You only need adapters for the bump steer heim joint mod

I've found a way to sidestep buying anything Porsche LOL....

FYI....The Early MANUAL rack inner tie-rod is M22 x 1.5 female at the rack end and M14x 1.5 female at the outer tie-rod end...... The Moog EV-378 is the perfect conversion length for putting on the MANUAL rack to a LATE offset car...

Are you just now installing a manual rack or are you changing your RX7 control arm offset?

I'm moving the early manual rack to the 90 S2 and haven't decided if I should just use the early offset, or if I should adapt the manual rack to work with the late offset. What would you do? Where are the poly suspension bushings part numbers. I hevent forgotted about the transmission mount, just not ready yet. I figured out how to use early seats on the late car though.

I would convert the Manual Rack with the Moog tie-rods. Or you'll have to do camber adjustment modding at the strut/spindles.

Are you talking about Polyurethane Bushings for the RX7 arms? I remember you said you just re-used the RX7 rubber ones?

I have a spare set. You don't have to cut a divet in the back for the small X-member protrusions either. mine bolted down nicely. I'll PM.

....Also With the RX7 arms you can also run Early Front offset for some other wheels/backspacing, but your LATE spindles will set pos+ camber if the strut mount holes are not at least slotted
