HOW TO DO AN ADVANCED SEARCH.
Mon Jul 08, 2013 3:56 pm by Admin
For the benefit of 944Hybrids users there are two search functions available for you to use.
The purpose of this sticky is to explain the "Advanced Search" function because it is much more powerful and is the best choice when researching information.
When you log on to the site a list of options is shown in a line at the top of the page. One option is labelled "Search", use this option (NOT the search box lower down on the right).
After you click on the upper search option, a drop down box appears. At the bottom of this box is a radio button marked "Advanced …

Re: Clutch hoses and fittings
Right! Thats why I went with the swagelok setup. We use them on lines with 3k on them of steam pressure. The fittings are expensive, it cost me 20 bucks for the setup I used. But I think if you install it at the end of the line where the original flex hose used to attach it won't look too bad and you will save on the length of the flex going all the way to the m/c. And most of all it will be high pressure. As I wrote earlier my earls fitting leaked. I now have no clutch leak and trust it.

Re: Clutch hoses and fittings
Well, heres what I have. I went with -3AN everything for quicker clutch action (as the vette guys claim) and am gonna use the aluminum adapter (because I didnt find banjos before I placed the order haha). Ive been running the aluminum adapter that RH (FRH) provided for quite some time and never had a problem with it. I expect the burst pressure of that little fitting to be way more than what im pushing through the clutch system....and I dont believe the whole brake fluid-aluminum thing seeing as most car slaves and masters are aluminum... Everything else is steel. Heres some pics that may help the next guy.

Re: Clutch hoses and fittings
Just search "revtech 662006". Dont search something like "-3AN or -4AN ...." because the "-" sign, in a search string, cancels out the 3AN and 4AN.
Russells and aeroquip also carries them. They are mostly used for motorcycles.

Got my set.
I bought my fittings based on this thread and they fit the TO bearing and master cyl with no problem. The C5 BH adapter (for those that went that route) needs additional machining to allow the longer/wider fittings to exit the BH without binding on the plate when the TO flange is flush on the surface.

Re: Clutch hoses and fittings
Update: I (literally) bought into this thread and found I had to mod xschops's BH plate a hair. My local machinist charged me $25 for the modification to the plate.
Problem was the hydraulic line nuts were binding / unable to turn since the fittings to go all AN extend the fitting area out further than a stock TO bearing.

I didn't put up a pic of it mated with the BH but yes, it fit perfectly. Maybe xschop will incorporate into his design if he feels it's worth it, but those of us with "gen 1" BH adapters will need to do this if the fittings in this thread are used.
