The purpose of this sticky is to explain the "Advanced Search" function because it is much more powerful and is the best choice when researching information.

When you log on to the site a list of options is shown in a line at the top of the page. One option is labelled "Search", use this option (NOT the search box lower down on the right).

After you click on the upper search option, a drop down box appears. At the bottom of this box is a radio button marked "Advanced …

Cool. The chromoly is suppose to be tough as nails. If the axles have stock 944 measurements I would be down with a set. Does the diameter of the axle step down after the splines or stay the same diameter? Got a good line on oem 944 cvs (Lobro)? I'm not totally sold on empi quality...
Thanks xschop

Yes, if you make your outboard Stub axles accept 930 cv's. It is the easiest (least expensive) way to get it done as the C5 diff's tri-lobe CVS are 28 splined so those remain untouched.

For our application their "High Performance" CV's are not good as they are loosely machined for high mis-alignment angles of Off-Road vehicles. The 944 suspension angles do not travel that extensively.

Which version of the Dan's Performance Empi type2 CV's work on the 951/968 shafts?  I see multiple listings for Empi Type 2.  What are the Type 4?  I haven't had problems with the axles, but I do go through the CV joints.  I think you mentioned you could get a version with chrome moly races?

Thanks for the posts.

What would it take to get these on an early 944? Not sure what is actually different, if it's the shaft length, or the splines... Thanks!

Take your axle shafts out and measure their axact end to end lengths and count the splines.
