HOW TO DO AN ADVANCED SEARCH.

For the benefit of 944Hybrids users there are two search functions available for you to use.
The purpose of this sticky is to explain the "Advanced Search" function because it is much more powerful and is the best choice when researching information.
When you log on to the site a list of options is shown in a line at the top of the page. One option is labelled "Search", use this option (NOT the search box lower down on the right).
After you click on the upper search option, a drop down box appears. At the bottom of this box is a radio button marked "Advanced …

Coolant Sender Alternative
So far, I have yet to find a solution for the coolant temp sender. The 323-095 is the right spec'ed sender, but finding an adapter for the head to a 1/8-27 NPT is almost impossible. I'd rather not mill down the sender to get it to fit the only adapter on the market.
After a little bit of searching, I thought back to how a local company gets away with an added sender on turbo BMWs. That company provides adapters for the upper radiator hose that has a tap and ground on it for a sender. Here's an example on the bay:

What do you think guys?
I've also thought about drilling and tapping an extra hole for the goofy steam pipes that sit on the front and back of the block.
The spec'd radiator hose in the manual (E71751) has an ID of 33.3mm (1.31"), so would it be wise to go with a 34mm adapter or a 32mm?

jagsthatrun.com has a similar connector. If you contact them they will make one to any dimension you need. I got the autometer sender adapter, it didn't fit the sender either, it necks in and it is too long for the sender.

I made an adapter out of of aluminum tube similar to the Ebay item, I machined the ends to make a lip to hold the hose. I then tapped the adapter with M14 x 1.5 and 3/8 NPT holes, this allowed me to use the stock 944 coolant temperature sender + an aftermarket water temperature gauge.
