I was talking specifically about my setup. I noticed before when my radiator was pointing up (in my 83) it was noticeably cooler when I removed the weatherstripping and raised the rear part of the hood to allow the hot air to flow out.
That's surprising given the high pressure zone that builds up at the base of the windshield at speed (after all, that's how cowl induction works).

By at speed you mean what? I'm talking about around the freeway and streets.

Re: eclou's LS1 track car
All this discussion has reminded me that I bought an OEM harmonic balancer/crank pulley several months ago to replace the undersized one that's on there now.
I guess my first step should be to try the OEM sized crank to see if the increased flow from the water pump solves the problem.

Anything above 50? My guess is that it may work, but not as efficiently as if you take it out of the middle of the hood.
See pressure diagram below.

The lower part is higher pressure and the upper lower pressure, right?

Correct.
It would be awesome to get access to a wind tunnel setup the same way my 944 was setup since the Porsche test would not take into account of any modifications (specifically allowing air to flow out from under the hood). I really don't want to hijack this thread anymore. Maybe a different one........

By eyeball the Wizard radiator is about 1" thicker than stock

The ducting dovetails nicely into the AIR splitter I have. The dovetail "U" shaped on both sides to stiffen the flimsy stock rubber vertical shroud

Definitely closer clearance with the crossover coolant pipe! Hopefully the radiator being made will solve all those issues.
I like your ducting, are you running a turbo front bumper?

yes I have a stock turbo front bumper with the fogs cut out and screened. The passenger fog ducts to the engine oil cooler and the driver's fog ducts to the powersteering cooler
