The purpose of this sticky is to explain the "Advanced Search" function because it is much more powerful and is the best choice when researching information.

When you log on to the site a list of options is shown in a line at the top of the page. One option is labelled "Search", use this option (NOT the search box lower down on the right).

After you click on the upper search option, a drop down box appears. At the bottom of this box is a radio button marked "Advanced …

LS1 Intake EGR Delete Plug behind Throttle Body

Post  yeehaa on Sun Apr 03, 2011 10:58 pm

Here is a nice piece to use to plug the EGR hole behind the TB on LS1 intakes. I have seen the freeze plugs & expanding rubber, effective but not very pretty. Found on EBAY. Billet aluminum with machined O-ring to plug hole. I will try to post a pic or here is a link.

You forgot to mention that it creates zero gain in HP. (since EGR is not used a WOT) It's awesome how much work some of us make over nothing, except for the fact that it's an emissions item.

It's a federal offense to remove a plug that removes a few PPM of particulate, but O.K. to let a B.O.P. go out of spec and dump millions of gallons of crude..... Razz

It's a federal offense to make a plug that increases NOX emissions.

Post  fliermike45 on Mon Apr 04, 2011 8:43 pm

My 2001 C5 Vette intake manifold is not capable of taking this plug, is there a difference?
Thanks

The 2001 corvette does not have the egr system from the factory. they changed the cam enough to get rid of the egr.
