HOW TO DO AN ADVANCED SEARCH.

Mon Jul 08, 2013 3:56 pm by Admin

For the benefit of 944Hybrids users there are two search functions available for you to use.
The purpose of this sticky is to explain the "Advanced Search" function because it is much more powerful and is the best choice when researching information.

When you log on to the site a list of options is shown in a line at the top of the page. One option is labelled "Search", use this option (NOT the search box lower down on the right).

After you click on the upper search option, a drop down box appears. At the bottom of this box is a radio button marked "Advanced …

Hey guys, I know there are a million different ways of putting the cars together, but what has seemed to be the magic ticket for everyone? Should the headers be installed before or after the engine is in the bay? How about wiring, on the engine stand or in the car? What seems to make things easier for everyone? I am literally a week or two away from finally getting this all together. Thanks!

Step 1. Remove old engine
Step 2. Install new engine.

Headers: on before the engine goes in the car
Wiring: Doesn't really matter, you could do it either way. Probably easiest to install the wiring onto the car first, because threading it through the firewall is the hardest part.

The only other advice i have is to spend an extra day cleaning the engine bay once you get the old motor out.

I am not looking for a bolt to bolt install manual that is 100 pages long. Razz

I currently have everything down and out, which includes the fuel tank. I was just curious if it is better to do things a certain way or not.

I always install headers once the engine is in the car...but it's probably just a matter of different strokes for different folks. as for wiring...you can lay out your runs with the motor in or out, but you'll need to measure wires and cut them to a specific length...i'd advise doing it with the motor in, that way you can run things pretty much in place, and integrate stuff into the engine bay better, plus it will allow you to work around things like fuel and brake lines etc.
