For the benefit of 944Hybrids users there are two search functions available for you to use.
The purpose of this sticky is to explain the "Advanced Search" function because it is much more powerful and is the best choice when researching information.
When you log on to the site a list of options is shown in a line at the top of the page. One option is labelled "Search", use this option (NOT the search box lower down on the right).

Change of direction. Bought a Carbed LT1(?) 86 944 Test Mule
I have started to accumulate parts for my 968 LS1 Automatic conversion. This included a 2000 Camaro SS engine. I have now decided to put that engine in a Nile Green 87 944 Turbo I also own.
Which gets me back to the point of this post. I bought an almost complete Carbed LT1 Engined 86 944, which I hope to use to develop the conversion for the 968. It has a RH LT1 conversion kit almost completely installed. Here's alink to the Ebay ad: 86 944 V8
I plan to complete the conversion in the 944. Later, I will install the LT1 fuel injection, computer etc, and sell off the carb and manifold. So in theory the 968 will end up with the LT1 and the 944 Turbo with the LS1. One of the reasons for this is that the LS1 engine I bought came out of a drag car and apparently puts out significant HP. It turned 10.995 in the 1/4 mile with NOS (hopefully its not ready to blow up). I think the LS1 will be better suited to a 5 spd turbo car than an automatic weekend convetible cruiser.
