HOW TO DO AN ADVANCED SEARCH.

Mon Jul 08, 2013 3:56 pm by Admin

For the benefit of 944Hybrids users there are two search functions available for you to use.
The purpose of this sticky is to explain the "Advanced Search" function because it is much more powerful and is the best choice when researching information.

When you log on to the site a list of options is shown in a line at the top of the page. One option is labelled "Search", use this option (NOT the search box lower down on the right).

After you click on the upper search option, a drop down box appears. At the bottom of this box is a radio button marked "Advanced …

Wanted to show what Ground Control is pushing out for coil over setups for the 944.
New Coil Overs arrived Img_1310

It has assisting springs for the rear to allow the torsion bar to stay in, if I decide later to remove the bar I can just up the spring rate in the rear.

Camber plates and Koni struts.

Total package shipped at 45lbs, so its not too bad for a sport suspension setup to weigh in at.

Once I finish the engine build I will get these installed and let you know the feel. I am going to look up rear suspension install instructions. Let me know if you have any advice.

Yup, I finished mine a month ago or so. I didn't opt for the camber plates since I already had a set that, although not adjustable, just as nice. The rear is really easy, I removed the old shocks, set the initial height to 1.25" from the top and installed it. I had to adjust the rear a little later, but thats real easy. You will have to load up the rear suspension in order to get the new ones on. (all rear shocks require this though)

https://944hybrids.forumotion.com/t1107p15-90-cab-swap Page 2 has some pics of the suspension.

What did you end up paying for that set up? Ground Control is about 10 minutes away from my house!

I paid $1200 for my setup, which was for the rear konis w/ springs, front coilover kit w/ springs, and the cut-n-gut front Koni adjustables. I think the adjustable camber plates are in the $250-$300 range.

I'll have to post the invoice for u guys tomorrow, taking my wife out for her bday. I spoke with Jay and gave him all the info on my car and he helped with the spring selections. I have bad memory so I forgot what it is. It is on the invoice though.

Total with this setup ran just over 18k, they have three different levels for the setup 12k being the lowest if I remember correcly. Checkout their site for specifics.

Hope fully not 18k (18,000) but 1800 right?

Not to be a naysayer or anything, but Koni technology is "slow" at best.

Never had an issue with the Koni's. They're good shocks and to get better you end up spending a huge amount of money for Motons, Ohlins or Penskes.

Ya sorry 1800.

They may not be the best but 90% of this will be used on street, so I think for that little bit of track days they will be good.

Here is my invoice for the setup.

New Coil Overs arrived Ground10

Not exactly sure if this is correct but I did some searching and found out that the part numbers give you Height, diameter, and spring rates all in metric. Got to love that. So to convert, divide by .0179 and wallah

if the front is 7.7 kg-mm the ft-lbs is 430 ft-lbs

the rear is 1.75 kg-mm the ft-lbs should be roughly 100 ft-lbs;
(which sounds really familiar since I had a long conversation in regards to the torsion bar and the options around the rear suspension. Jay told me that this should be fine but if I decided later that I needed to remove the torsion bar I can just up the spring weight since I already have the coil-over kit installed now.)

Here is the site for Ground control to see all the kits they offer for the 944;
