HOW TO DO AN ADVANCED SEARCH.

For the benefit of 944Hybrids users there are two search functions available for you to use.
The purpose of this sticky is to explain the "Advanced Search" function because it is much more powerful and is the best choice when researching information.

When you log on to the site a list of options is shown in a line at the top of the page. One option is labelled "Search", use this option (NOT the search box lower down on the right).

After you click on the upper search option, a drop down box appears. At the bottom of this box is a radio button marked "Advanced …

some more info from another forum...
"you can't stick a late tank in an early car unless you change the strap location pick up points, cut the crossmember out, then make it a bolt in, tap the longitudinals, match the resistance signal from the new sender to the old gauge......"

For me to use a newer tank I would remove a section of the floor and replace that section with the floor from a newer car. This gives me the locators and factory mounting points. The relocation of the strap is minor. As for fuel gauge I am running all Auto meter gauges. Simply change the unit to a auto meter unit. Adjust mounting  holes and good to go. The cross member removal is 5 min.  I have a piece of 1.75 dom tubing running between my shock mounts and frame. So still have good rugity in the ass end. Plus my tran's hangs off of it.. I appreciate the info.

Well after a long break from my hot rod, i am back at it. My wife has finally been given the all clear from her cancer. Now its time to finish this project. I look forward to installing all the parts i have acquired over the last year. Most importantly i look forward to hearing this unit run. Forward ho. Happy days.

It's great to hear you are back working on your car. But, it's even more awesome that your wife is clear of cancer. Congrats to you both.

Great ...I'm most likely going to do the same to mine as I've already done the LS3 swap over a year ago
and love it.. 530 hp to the wheels is a blast but original 951 trans won't last forever. Thanks for taking the time to do this write up, great pictures..
