HOW TO DO AN ADVANCED SEARCH.

Mon Jul 08, 2013 3:56 pm by Admin

For the benefit of 944Hybrids users there are two search functions available for you to use.
The purpose of this sticky is to explain the "Advanced Search" function because it is much more powerful and is the best choice when researching information.

When you log on to the site a list of options is shown in a line at the top of the page. One option is labelled "Search", use this option (NOT the search box lower down on the right).

After you click on the upper search option, a drop down box appears. At the bottom of this box is a radio button marked "Advanced …

Got a location on a pretty descent 944 here in Russellville, Ar.

1988 N/A 5spd

So my videos want to be weird, they are quicktime off my phone and my computer needs wmv to edit them into one vid. I do have pictures though and my word to vouch for quality.

His listing price is high for what we are looking for, but talking to the guy, he has no idea about 944 or many cars in general. He is a white haired older male who runs an auctioneer service and bought this car of the man who owned it from the first day before he died. The current owner has put maybe 50 miles on it total and says it is not his type of car. According to him the price he has on it is from the average price he got off looking on ebay and other car listings online. He is willing to negotiate.

He will not part it out, he has no mechanical knowledge what so ever. He would like to sell it whole or not at all.

From my point of view the body is straight, the engine bay is clean and there is a halfway descent new paint job on it. The interior as a whole is about a 7/10; the front has a couple small issues but they can be fixed relatively easy. The hatch area needs new carper, it is ratty looking. The sun roof gear cover is falling down as most are now days. The stock seats are in descent shape with minor thread separations.

Instrument panel works, O.D. is the only thing on it that did not show signs of life. The headlights and other electronics all seem to be fine, the sunroof opens, the rear hatch switch activates the trunk.

The under carriage is pristine, I dont know if it has seen any off pavement driving form the looks of it.

The drive was nice, no bad sounds and the gear box was tight and smooth. It is still slow due to the stock 4 cyl, but it ran smooth with mild idle variations, idle at around 700-800rpm.

Possibly a great converter or even a restoration project. If you do contact him make sure to mention you found it on this site.
