For the benefit of 944Hybrids users there are two search functions available for you to use.
The purpose of this sticky is to explain the "Advanced Search" function because it is much more powerful and is the best choice when researching information.
When you log on to the site a list of options is shown in a line at the top of the page. One option is labelled "Search", use this option (NOT the search box lower down on the right).
After you click on the upper search option, a drop down box appears. At the bottom of this box is a radio button marked "Advanced …

Any ideas an thoughts about fitting 17" wheels with low profile tires, my 944 seems to "tramline" since doing this.
Is a change of tracking required?

I have noticed that different brand tires will do that worse than others with cars I have owned.

Re: 17 inch wheels.
It's pretty common, i think. Big tires have a lot more "pull" on the car. I run 18's in 235/285.

Any thoughts on tire pressures when upsizing?

Re: 17 inch wheels.
Put more pressure in than what you should need. Draw a line across the tire with chalk. Drive down a straight section of road. Lower the tire pressure until all of the chalk is gone from the tread surface. Or just go with what is recommended by the manufacturer.

Re: 17 inch wheels.
Worth upgrading the castor mounts (Front wishbone rear mounts) to 968 items, they have much less rubber and will work much better than worn out originals. the front mounts will probably benefit from replacement to if they are original,

17 Inch wheels.
Thanks for the advice on tires/bushings.
I must admit to fitting my 17" wheels before starting any other work so I'm probably seeing/feeling 150000 miles of wear.
My project is a little more than an engine swap, I have spare lower wishbones that I have fitted with new ball joints and intend to fit those on the car along with new bushings, strut cartridges, lowered springs and boxster/lexus brakes. Still collecting minor parts for the swap so that when I start I have all that I need.

17" Wheels
Thanks Tony,
After some research I found that Pelican is selling the 968 lower control arm rear bushings.
Apparantly they have less rubber and are a Porsche recommended upgrade when using bigger wheels.

Re: 17 inch wheels.
You should check on ebay, they're half price. Not the same manufacturer, but i have them on my car and they're fine (lots of people on rennlist run them too).
