HOW TO DO AN ADVANCED SEARCH.
Mon Jul 08, 2013 3:56 pm by Admin
For the benefit of 944Hybrids users there are two search functions available for you to use.
The purpose of this sticky is to explain the "Advanced Search" function because it is much more powerful and is the best choice when researching information.
When you log on to the site a list of options is shown in a line at the top of the page. One option is labelled "Search", use this option (NOT the search box lower down on the right).
After you click on the upper search option, a drop down box appears. At the bottom of this box is a radio button marked "Advanced …

Wiring Harness
More credit where due.
Just got another parcel today, my wiring harness and fuse block along with re-programmed ECU from SSP Wiring. The job is excellent, I chose the de-luxe show covering and it looks great.
They assured me that all modified harnesses get run on a test engine.
The Installation Instructions are excellent and are a mine of information about the various sensors.
I had a Vette wired throttle body, SSP traded me a cable type in the deal.

Re: Wiring Harness
What fuse block did you get?
Did you know that they use the same VIN for all of thier reprogramming? Dont know if this matters to anyone else. It does to me. Need to have traceability back to teh original car. MY T/A computer is now a camaro with a different VIN.

VIN #
No I did not know that. Does it matter? What does the VIN number really do as far as the electronics are concerned? They have reprogrammed my ECU and also made a small performance increase.

Re: Wiring Harness
It only matters if you are in a state that requires that you have information that links the engine to the actual vehicle it came from. I am in California and I was told by the BAR that I will need this.
Re: Wiring Harness
I was wondering if your harness has one of the wires labled "performance". Do you know what this wire is for?

Performance wire.
Ted,
I talked to Steve at SSP Wiring today, here is some info:
1. The Blue wire "Performance" is really intended for auto transmissions.
It can also be used for manual cars, it forces the computer into a more agressive
Timing and Fuel Map. You have to connect this wire to +12 volts.
2.The "Check Engine Light" wire puts out a ground, the bulb has to be connected to a
+12 volt source on the other side.
3. If you have the OBDII port, Green goes to OBDII wire in the harness
Orange goes to +12 volts (Battery Hot)
Black goes to ground.
Hope this helps,
Mike
