How would this setup compare with the dual MC setup mentioned elsewhere on the site?

The Wilwood 260-7563 is the closest match to the 944 master cylinder, and is a designated "manual" master cylinder. This one fact means the Wilwood will require less pedal pressure to stop the car than the "power-assisted" stock 944 MC. The Tilton Dual MC setup is matched to the caliper pistons and rotor surface area. The Dual MC setup requires 80-90 lbs. pedal pressure...the Wilwood I am unsure of, but the 944 stock MC requires ~150 lbs. pedal pressure.

The Wilwood is the "cost-effective" solution, but the Tilton is THE BEST setup for manual brakes (at a price, of course...).

The stock 944 MC is not a good idea...ask expuppy.

Well, I am looking to get the car up and running in a safe manner first. I may end up with the dual MC setup later on, but it looks like the single shouldn't be a problem to start with. As mentioned in the manual, if the track guys are running a proper single MC setup, then the setup should be okay.

I also notice mention of the proportioning valves. Do I need to change mine out (86 951) for this setup?

If you have a place to setup / test the car, an adjustable prop valve would be ideal. If not, the Turbo, S or 928 valve will work (5/18 bar / #951.355.305.01).

(I'm even quoting the manual...mine's open on page 79...beats searching for part numbers on 5 different drives and a dozen or so sites!)

NOTE: The Booster Delete Plate shown on page 78 is ONLY for the 944 MC, and retains the cereal bowl. Revisions to the manual will be posted shortly...)

Just to be clear, can I use the Wilwood 260-7563 set up with the LS430 front calipers / turbos rear?

Greg?
I'm not sure what Expuppy was running as far as calps on his. I would think with an adjustable biasing valve set on the rear circuits..... many possibilities

Yes.
5/18 Porsche 944 OR Wilwood adjustable.

With any brake setup.

(expuppy is running Wilwood fronts, Turbo rears (?)
and a Wilwood adjustable prop valve.)

Good to know. Got my plate / rod on order through Greg. I will be working on rest of the brake stuff once I get through buying all of the engine swap stuff.
