Hi all -- new guy here.

Ive owned a 944 for at least 6 years but 5 of those its been in storage. I finally got the chance to have it shipped to my location and it will be arriving in a few day. I had been active on other boards back then, and had read about a few people converting thier 944's but their was scarce little info and I put it into the "someday" bin. I was very pleased to see this site ( and a few others) that not only has the wealth of info --but it seems active ...

Not a question, but thought it was kind of funny. I'm not sure how many of you follow the Rennlist and Pelican forums, but recently a guy put his 944S2-based 968 conversion car up for sale. I was flipping through the pictures and saw this one.

Ironically, I just bought a Hooker Max Flow muffler and Magnaflow spun steel catalytic converter, both which are on this guy's car, along with the same 3" diameter exhaust pipe. Well, at least I know it fits!

Hi everyone, I bought clean 86 turbo with a blown motor and am swapping the sbc from my 85.5 with an rh kit. I would get a whiff of the clutch on hard launches, putting it on the trailer and I think it was slipping at higher rpm. I'm running about 420hp/tq and predicting a 125 shot of nitrous in my immediate future So I'm thinking an aluminum flywheel but not sure of clutch size that fits in the rh bellhousing. Since they are off of the car should I option 1) replace the torn rubber and leave it at that? option 2) Replace the ball joint on the side that had the tear? (since it might have contaminants that will eventually cause wear) or option 3) Rebuild both sides since they are off of the car?

Will it hurt the strut mounts to let the suspension hang?

I have purchased a turbo transaxle that has been prepped for track duty. It has a 80/80 LSD unit (80% lock up on acceleration and 80% on deceleration) that would probably not be the best street choice. The factory split is probably better for a street car. The turbo is nice because it has a higher final drive ratio than the NA gear boxes. This keeps the RPMs in a reasonable range at track speeds.

One choice I had was to use my 944S transaxle. I found that the 944S and the 944S2 trans ...

I just had to show these off. I've been talking with Constantine (from r***list) about getting new TT bearings made for the 944's. I can't take any credit--all i did was ask, and today these showed up in the mail!

THESE ARE PRE-PRODUCTION, THE FINISHED VERSION WILL BE EVEN NICER!

Comparison, old vs. new:

Anyone who has done the TT bearings knows what a PITA it is to do, and how hokey the current "fix" is. I can't ...

Should remote reservoirs be mounted above a Master Cylinder? If they are mounted below, is there an issue with trapping/introducing air into the hydraulic circuit?

My Wilwood dual-circuit brake MC will fit with the reservoirs mounted on the MC itself, but that leaves the clutch MC without one. I picked a remote reservoir kit from Jegs, and am trying to figure out where to put it. The clutch MC is really high on the firewall, which makes locating the reservoir problematic.

Question for the forum,

Looking a the Hydroboost and have read pages and pages of thoughts on it and want to read more.

Looking at adding the hydroboost to the 87 Turbo.

Who has installed what systems for Hydroboost: BMW, GM, Ford.

Opinions

What opinions are there between the Hydroboost and the Big brake upgrade

For anyone who has added in the Hydroboost, do you have a parts list we could leverage.

Your help is appreciated.

Took all pertinent measurements before drilling these S2 spindles for the 5/8" Bump Steer kit.....

Lexus LS430 Big Brake swap is a go, just curious about the Early to late strut angles (there are 2 angles to the mounts in YELLOW). I will measure the specs on the EARLY spindles shortly. many possibilities here....

Ok I have been searching for a 1/8th pipe to a 4an for hydraulic throwout bearing, this is what I found out: one you need a high pressure fitting and they are a bitch to find, I found one at summit's site and after ordering it for like $3.00 and get this $4.95 shipping I received it ,of course right after I got the fitting I was reading somewhere ...

- The clutch pedal adjustment rod is extended so that there is very little slack between the pedal and the forward stop/sensor.

- The throwout bearing is gapped to .05" at rest, and I am getting about .65" of TOB travel as measured by calipers. Mcleod minimum to disengage the clutch is .50".

I looked through the CD manual that I was given buy Greg, But I could not find any thing about adjustments. Does anyone have any info about this? Will just have to push in on the rubber boot to disengage the steering wheel. No one will ever know it is there!
